For some reason my friend and I decided it’d be awesome if, when Loki and Thor return to Asgard, rather than Loki being put on trial Frigga just intervenes in a stereotypical mother like fashion.
Frigga: “Loki, just look at the state of you! Have you any idea what trouble you’ve caused? Do you have any notion of the turmoil you’ve put me through? What exactly did you think you were doing?”Then she pushes him to sit on one of those steps in front of the throne.
Frigga: “You’re going to sit here 1040 minutes and during that time you’re going to think about what you’ve done. After your time is up I’ll come back and I expect an apology. A sincere one.”
Then Thor starts laughing and she rounds on him.
Frigga: “And you! I told you to bring your brother straight back home and what did you do? You disobeyed me and stayed on Midgard playing with your mortal friends.”
Thor: “But mother…”Frigga: Don’t ‘but mother’ me! Look at your brother. Look at what your friends did to him. And what is that thing on his face?! You’re the older brother. I expect more from you. You’re supposed to look out for him. On the step! Now!”
So Thor sits down and finally Odin tries to take back some control.
Odin: “Frigga our sons are men not children we need to treat them…”
Frigga: “Don’t you start lecturing me on how we should be treating our children. I told you, when you said you were bringing a frost giant baby home to raise as our own, that it would be a lot of responsibilty. A son is for life; not just for post war celebrations and possible use in creating peace between two kingdoms. And you said ‘Yes, of course dear’ in that patronising ‘I’m Odin all-father and I do what I like’ tone of voice. In fact, you can sit yourself down too.”
(This was all imagined after watching Thor at 2 in the morning. Just thought I’d share.)
